Students and schoolchildren visiting Boris Pasternak in Peredelkino

On February 17, 2023, the literary evening «To live, think, feel, love, make discoveries!» took place. About 70 people were guests of the literary evening dedicated to the 133rd anniversary of Boris Pasternak`s birth and the Year of the Russian Language in the CIS countries.

The poet`s poems were performed by philology students and ninth graders of the Specialized Lyceum № 165. Yerisanova Irina, head of the department of the V.I. Dal RMIRLI «B.L. Pasternak House-Museum», told the children about Peredelkino, about the house in which the poet lived since 1939. It was here that on October 23, 1958, he learned that he had been awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature. The audience saw a picture of the poet`s life: photographs and illustrations, museum exhibits and views of the house gave a visual representation of the poet`s fate and work.

Pereverzeva Irina, head of the Russian House in Valletta (Malta), shared her impressions about the work of Boris Pasternak, told about a new project of poetry translations. Students and schoolchildren were the first to hear how the poet`s poems sound in Maltese.

The author of the textbook «Russian Literature» Abisheva Saule told about how the poet`s work is studied at school. B. Pasternak fully embodied the idea of personal freedom and the path of an Artist who devoted himself to the service of high Poetry with his whole life: «And here art ends, and the soil and fate breathe».
