Name of vacant position:

Head of the Center for Continuing Education

Main functional responsibilities of the structural unit:

- updating the theoretical and practical knowledge of the university teaching staff in connection with the increased requirements for the level of qualification and the need to master modern methods of solving professional problems, as well as expanding the general outlook, improving the language readiness of students in the learning/teaching process;

- development of new educational programs for improving pedagogical skills, reflecting changes in the content of university pedagogical and secondary education;

- development, placement and maintenance of author`s courses by leading teachers on the educational portal of the university;

- information, software and technical support of all educational programs at the university using distance learning technologies;

- improving the effectiveness of the educational process at all levels of education through the introduction of blended learning technology;

- involvement of teaching staff of institutes for the organization of the educational process and certification of students under the program of pedagogical retraining;

- organizes and provides methodological support for the educational process of courses to improve pedagogical skills, maintains documentation of advanced training courses, orders for enrollment of students and completion of courses, certificate issuance statements, correspondence of the Center for Continuing Education on professional development issues;

- accompanies the portal of the Center for Continuing Education, is engaged in filling it with electronic educational and methodological complexes of disciplines and information support.

Main job responsibilities:

- Directs the distance learning center, which carries out work on the organization and conduct of courses in accordance with the Rules of the organization of the educational process on distance learning technologies;

- carries out the effective organization and conduct of advanced training and distance education of students;

- carries out the systematic development of educational and methodological materials aimed at improving the quality of students` training;

- carries out testing and implementation of new technologies and teaching methods, informatization of education, access to international global communication networks.

Actively participates in:

- in the search and implementation of effective forms and methods of conducting classes, the development of individual and independent learning, strengthening the practical orientation of the educational process and its focus on solving specific tasks of educational organizations;

 - in the development of forms of communication and cooperation with customers, providing consulting and implementation assistance to students;

- organizes partnerships with institutes, centers for advanced training of other universities and organizations, its own projects and conducting scientific and methodological cooperation;

- ensures the effective use of material, financial and labor resources; 

 - ensures compliance with the rules and regulations of the University;

- performing other duties on behalf of the immediate supervisor.

Education:

Higher postgraduate education

Required professional experience (duration, field, other)

The experience of scientific, pedagogical and organizational work at the university, work experience in senior positions in educational organizations or educational authorities for at least 5 years.

Professional competences:

Must know: state mandatory standards of higher and postgraduate education; 

Rules for the organization and conduct of teacher training courses;

Rules for the development, coordination and approval of educational programs for teacher training courses;

Typical qualification characteristics of positions of teaching staff and persons equated to them.

Personal competences and qualities:

Proactivity, attentiveness, self-motivation and quick learner, ability to work in a team and independently; good organisational skills (planning and implementation); ability to work in a friendly and effective manner with colleagues and trainees.

Knowledge of languages, including the state language (list of languages the candidate should be proficient in)

Fluency in Kazakh and Russian languages.
