Lecture on "Mental health is the key to a quality life"

On February 28, 2025, as part of a memorandum organized by the Psychological Support Service with the Sergey Sklyar Psychotherapy Center, a lecture on «Mental health: the key to a quality life» was held.

The purpose of the lecture is to raise awareness of the importance of mental health, develop skills to recognize warning signs, foster the values of empathy, mutual assistance and responsibility for oneself and others, as well as the prevention of suicidal risks through the creation of a culture of concern for mental well-being among students. The lecture was conducted by the clinical psychologist of the Sergey Sklyar Psychotherapy Center, Mukhabbat Nizamudin. The participants discussed topical and important topics for mental health issues. These questions caused an active discussion. In it, participants asked questions to a clinical psychologist, shared their thoughts and discussed examples from personal experience. Students showed great interest, took an active part in the discussion. Such meetings not only raise awareness of mental health, but also help young people develop a culture of caring for mental well-being.

About 150 Abai University students took part in the lecture.
