Third Stage of the Citywide School Student Competition “Bullying Prevention Among Students” Bullying Prevention Among Schoolchildren

On April 30, 2025, the third stage of the citywide contest for schoolchildren titled "Social Leadership in the Formation of the Student`s Personality" was held at Secondary School-Lyceum No. 173. The event was organized as the final report of the industrial (pedagogical) practice of 4th-year students from the educational program 6В01801 - Social Pedagogy and Self-Knowledge at the Department of Preschool Education and Social Pedagogy, Faculty of Pedagogy and Psychology, Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University.

The aim of the third stage of the contest was to provide students with an understanding of the phenomenon of bullying, to organize preventive measures, to foster feelings of respect and empathy among students, and to prevent bullying through the development of leadership potential, thereby increasing peer support for victimized students.

At the opening ceremony, the director of School-Lyceum No. 173, Laiyla Baiymbetova, emphasized the relevance of the topic and noted the importance of cooperation between the university, the school, and the family in ensuring the successful socialization of the child. She also expressed gratitude to the organizers, supporters, and participating students.

The event was organized in the format of a competition among three teams: Free Teens and Zhiger (9th grade), and Zhanashyry Zhasstar (5th grade). The students prepared video presentations, defended projects, and performed stage scenes on the following topics: "Preventing Bullying: Preventing the Consequences and Creating a Safe Environment," "School Without Bullying: A Safe Environment - A Happy Child," and "Say No to Bullying!"

Winners were awarded diplomas of the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd degrees. In addition, special awards were presented in the categories "Best Performance," "Best Project," and "Best Video" in recognition of the originality of the submitted works.

The team leaders - 4th-year students of the 6В01801 - Social Pedagogy and Self-Knowledge program - demonstrated a high level of professional knowledge, skills, and organizational and leadership competencies during the course of their practice. As a result, they received letters of appreciation from the school administration. The contest served as an opportunity for future social pedagogues to showcase and further develop their professional competencies in a real-world context.

Scientific supervision, professional support, guidance, adherence to ethical standards, objective evaluation of students` creative works, awarding of prizes, and feedback were provided by the practice supervisors: PhD, Associate Professor Anar Alimbekova; Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor Nazira Atemkulova; and PhD, Associate Professor Asem Bulshekbayeva.

In addition, significant contributions to the successful organization of the third stage of the contest and the high-level implementation of the industrial (pedagogical) practice were made by the university and faculty administration, Head of the Department - Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Ulbosyn Kyyakbayeva; Director of School-Lyceum No. 173 Laiyla Baiymbetova; Deputy Directors Gulmira Darmenkbayeva and Jamal Japparova; Social Pedagogue Nazerké Aitbai; and class teachers Marzhan Kuchkarova, Jupar Urpezhanova, and Parasat Zhunusova.
