Winners of the “Abai Ümiti” Contest Awarded

On May 30, 2025, as part of the celebration of the 180th anniversary of the great poet and thinker Abai Kunanbayev, and in honor of International Children`s Day on June 1, the winners of the "Abai Ümiti" ("Abai`s Hope") contest were awarded. The contest was organized for the children of the university`s staff and faculty members.

The contest took place from May 13 to May 27 and was aimed at children aged 3 to 5, as well as students in grades 1 through 4.

The main goal of the contest was to introduce the younger generation to Abai`s rich legacy and translated works, to foster interest in reading, and to develop expressive reading skills.

Contest results:

Among students in grades 1-4 (ages 6-10): 1st place: Balnur Edilbaikyzy - 4th grade student at School-Gymnasium No. 206, Almaty.

2nd place: Abilmansur Smail - 3rd grade student at School-Gymnasium No. 66 named after D. Kunaev, Astana.
3rd place: Batyr Kozhagul - 3rd grade student at Secondary School No. 19, village of M. Tuimebaev, Almaty.

Among preschool-aged children (ages 3-5): 1st place: Aisha Zhіren - 5 years old.
2nd place: Damira Kairat - 5 years old, "Aq Kögershin" kindergarten, Kyrgauyldy village, Karasai district, Almaty region.
3rd place: Alinur Daniyaruly - 3 years old.

The winners and laureates received letters of appreciation, diplomas, and valuable gifts from the Chairman of the Board - Rector of Abai University.

The contest was held with the support of the Abai University Employees` Union as part of the university`s corporate development initiative.
