Educational practice - the basics of training a professional specialist

From May 26 to June 8, 2025, second-year students of the educational programs 6B01515 - Geography (IP), 6B01516 - Geography-History, and 6B05202 - Ecology of the Department of Geography and Ecology, Faculty of Natural Sciences and Geography at Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University completed a comprehensive zonal field practice along the route: Almaty - Semey - Zhidebai - Ust-Kamenogorsk - Sibe Lakes - Kiin-Kerish - Markakol - Berel Scythian burial mound - Rakhman Springs - Ust-Kamenogorsk - Almaty.

The comprehensive zonal field practice in physical and socio-economic geography is an essential component of professional training for future geographers. It allows students to deepen the theoretical knowledge gained in lectures and practical classes and apply it in real-world settings, thereby enhancing their professional competencies.

During the final reporting session, the students expressed their sincere gratitude to the university administration, led by Chairman of the Board - Rector Bolat Tilep, for the high-level organization of the field practice. As part of their report, the students submitted their field journals along with photo and video materials documenting the practice route.

The practice was supervised by Associate Professor Soltanbek Kasenov, Senior Lecturer Andrey Abulgaziyev, and senior lecturers and master`s degree holders Raikhan Iskakova and Aikun Kuspanova.
