A preventive meeting was held on the topic «ReStart – prevention of gambling»

On March 18, 2025, a preventive meeting with students on the topic «ReStart - prevention of gambling» was held, organized by the Psychological Support Service.

The meeting was attended by the head of the public foundation intellectual youth school «Sana», psychologist-practitioner Ulbolsyn Terebekkyzy, director of the rehabilitation center «Vozrozhdenie Live» Hamit Shukir, psychologist-consultant of the rehabilitation center «Vozrozhdenie Live» Shaimurat Saduakas and Sagyrov Almat.

The purpose of the preventive meeting is to inform students about the risks, consequences and dangers of gambling addiction, create sustainable motivation for a healthy lifestyle and develop self-control skills.

During the lecture, the speakers talked about the scale of the problem of gambling addiction in modern society and explained to the students that gambling can quickly turn from harmless entertainment into a serious problem affecting all spheres of life: financial, emotional, social and even physical. Special attention was paid to the mechanisms of addiction formation. The speakers discussed in detail how gambling affects the psyche and why it can be highly addictive. In addition, students received practical recommendations on how to recognize the first signs of addiction in themselves or their loved ones, and the speakers emphasized the importance of timely seeking help from specialists if they cannot cope with the problem on their own.

At the end of the meeting, the students asked the speakers questions and shared their thoughts.

The meeting was attended by more than 70 students from the faculties of Mathematics, Physics and Computer Science, History and Law and Physical Education and Basic Military Training.
