Registration of the study visa


Procedure for issuing an invitation


After successfully passing the entrance exams and submitting for admission to the number of students, you need to issue an invitation to the Abai University to enter the Republic of Kazakhstan on a student visa (C9).

 

Upon receipt of an invitation to enter the Republic of Kazakhstan from the interdepartmental commission, the university will send it to you. The invitation is processed by the Migration Police of Almaty city within 5 working days, but the term of consideration may be extended up to 30 days, so these documents should be submitted to the university as soon as possible.


To issue an invitation, foreign citizens must provide:
1. A copy of a foreign passport.
2. A deposit of 30% of the total tuition fee to the university account.

4. Pay the 0,5 MCI (Monthly Calculation Index) for the visa application fee.
5. Extract from the Rector`s order of admission / transfer from one course to another;
6. A copy of the contract for the provision of educational services (if any);

 

To apply for a visa, foreign citizens must provide:
1. Copy of your international passport.
2. Payment of a deposit in the amount of 30% of the total amount of tuition to the account of the university.

5. Pay 30 MCI for the visa fee. 6. An extract from the order of the rector on enrollment / transfer from course to course;
7. A copy of the contract for the provision of educational services (if any);
8. Notarized consent of the owner of the apartment or a certificate from the hostel (hotel) of the university (at the place of temporary residence).

 

Visa extension procedure
1. Visa is extended 15 calendar days before the end of the visa through the Department of International Engagement (Dostyk Avenue 13, office 300). Extension of a study visa is carried out for 1 year.
2. In the case of expiration of the passport it is necessary to renew it in advance in the Department of Consular Services (120 days before the visa expiration date).
3. To extend the study visa, foreign students must submit at least 15 days before the end of the study visa:
- a passport and a copy of the passport and visa;
- an excerpt from the Rector`s order to enroll (transfer from one course to another);
- receipt of payment of the state fee of 30 MCI (for 1 year);
- visa application form with a 3x4 photo;

- notarized consent of the owner of the apartment or a certificate from the university dormitory (at the place of temporary residence).
4. To extend a work visa, foreign nationals must provide at least 15 days before the end of the work visa:
- passport and a copy of passport and visa;
- a copy of the employment contract;
- a copy of the rector`s order for employment;
- a receipt of payment of the state duty in the amount of 30 MCI (for 1 year);
- visa application form with a 3x4 photo;
- notarized consent of the owner of the apartment or a certificate from the dormitory (hotel) of the university (at the place of temporary residence).
5. At the time of visa extension instead of passport the foreign citizen receives a certificate of the established form.
6. Foreign citizens must promptly renew their visa through the Department of International Cooperation, or leave the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan 10 days before the expiration date of the visa.
7. Foreign citizens are personally responsible for compliance with the term of the passport and visa.

 

Procedure for registration of foreign citizens
1. After crossing the state border, foreign citizens, on the first day of entry into the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan (including weekends and holidays), must appear at the Department of International Engagement at the address: Almaty, Dostyk Avenue, 13, office 300.
2. To register a passport, foreign citizens must submit:
For countries with a visa regime:
- passport and a copy of the passport with a mark on crossing the state border and visa;
- migration card issued at the border;
- Notarized written consent of the owner of the apartment or a certificate from the hostel.
For countries with a visa-free regime:
- passport and a copy of the passport with a mark on crossing the state border and visa;
- migration card issued at the border;
- an extract from the order of enrollment, transfer from course to course;
- Notarized written consent of the owner of the apartment or a certificate from the hostel;

- medical insurance.
3. The Department of International Engagement within three working days shall register the passports of foreign citizens with the migration police after each crossing of the state border of the Republic of Kazakhstan (from any foreign country). The calculation of these terms starts from 00.01 AM.
4. Foreign citizens of the countries are obliged to arrive in the Republic of Kazakhstan not earlier than the start date of the study (labor) visa. In case of entry on other visas (tourist, private, etc.), foreign citizens must leave before the date of the study (labor) visa and arrive on the day of its validity or later.
5. Every foreign citizen must live at a registered place of residence. The discrepancy between the actual residence address and the address indicated during registration is a violation of migration legislation.
6. Department of International Engagement, Department of Educational Work, Institutes (faculty) have the right to conduct scheduled and unscheduled inspections of foreign citizens living in university hostels. If cases of their residence outside the place of registration are revealed, an act is drawn up, and foreign citizens can be expelled for violation of migration legislation.
7. When changing a place of residence, before moving to a new address, a foreign citizen must submit to the Department of International Engagement:
- original and copy of passport and visa;
- a copy of the identity card and a notarized consent for temporary residence from the owner of the apartment.
Only after providing the above documents, a foreign citizen can move to a new address.
8. In case of temporary absence from the hostel, a foreign citizen is obliged to submit to the Department of International Engagement a written notification of the location and the period of absence with a note of the commandant of the dormitory.
9. Every time, before going abroad during the academic year, a foreign citizen must obtain an exit permit. In case of traveling abroad without the permission of the Department of International Engagement, the foreign student may be expelled from the university.

 

IMPORTANT!


1. Foreign citizens studying at the university with a C9 visa are not allowed to carry out labor activities in the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
2. Foreign students must annually undergo a medical commission and submit a medical certificate of 086 form and fluorography to the Institutes (to the faculty) within the framework of healthcare legislation.
3. Foreign citizens have the right to receive higher education and additional professional education at the University:
- on a state educational grant;
- within the framework of intergovernmental agreements;
- on a paid basis.
4. Persons of Kazakh nationality who are not citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan or living abroad have the right to receive higher education on an equal basis with citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
5. Foreign citizens entering master`s and doctoral programs pass entrance examinations in accordance with the established procedure.
6. Foreign citizens have the right to study at the preparatory department of the University, which provides training for foreign students to master educational programs in the Kazakh / Russian languages.
7. For the delivery of documents and entrance exams, foreign citizens arrive at the University in private. Foreign citizens of countries with a visa regime, accepted for training (who paid the initial fee), are issued a C9 study visa.

 

Foreign citizens are required to:
1. After the end of the academic year, leave the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The opportunity to stay for valid reasons during the summer vacation is provided to foreign citizens after receiving written permission from the University`s management.
2. Always carry your passport and student ID with you, be careful and tidy with your documents, do not lose or damage them. In case of loss, a note with contact numbers and addresses must be enclosed in the passport and student ID.
3.In case of loss or change of the national passport, change of contact information, immediately notify the Department of International Engagement.
4. Upon receipt of a residence permit or citizenship of the Republic of Kazakhstan, immediately submit the relevant documents to the Department of International Engagement. Foreign citizens with a residence permit are required to reside at a permanent residence address or to issue a temporary registration through the Department of International Engagement.


Foreign citizens have the right to timely receive information and organizational assistance from the Department of International Engagement, Institutes (faculty), curators.


Foreign citizens are administratively responsible for:
- Stay in the Republic of Kazakhstan without registration;
- Not leaving the Republic of Kazakhstan or evading departure after the expiration of the visa or registration;
- Carrying out labor activities with a student visa.
