Anti-corruption: The "Honesty Hour" online lecture

 

On December 8-9, 2020, on the eve of the winter session, Abai KazNPU held an online lecture «The Honesty Hour», organized by the «Parasat»Centre for the International Anti-Corruption Day.

 

The event was attended by students and teachers from the Institute of Philology and Multilingual Education (107 students), the Institute of Natural Sciences and Geography (200), the Institute of Education and Psychology (192 students), the Sorbonne - (64 students), the Institute of History and Law (160 students) and the Institute of Arts, Culture and Sports (85 students). The deputy directors of institutes for educational work also took part.

 

The main speakers were Serikbay Nurgisaev, commissioner for ethics and prevention of corruption risks at the university, and Kambar Usipov, director of the Parasat Centre, who spoke about the anti-corruption activities carried out at the university in recent years.

 

Professor S. Nurgisaev underlined that anticorruption initiatives of the university are in line with the issues raised at the VI International Online Conference on Anti-Corruption on 8 December this year in Almaty under the title «Towards integrity: greater transparency, accountability and public participation. Transparency and social control mechanisms, digital tools against corruption in social networks Instagram (parasat.abaiuniversity), Facebook (parasat.abaiuniversity) were presented to inform students and parents, teachers and staff of the centre. It was also noted that the official pages of the Parasat Centre are open for feedback.

 

Kambar Usipov noted the importance of the centre during the upcoming winter session and stressed the need to comply with the requirements of the Code of Academic Integrity, Code of Ethics, the requirements of international anti-corruption standard ISO 37001: 2016 implemented in the university and prevent their violation.

 

The meeting was held at a high level. All participants emphasized the usefulness of the lecture.
