Although the department has been established for just over a year, its teachers have published 3 articles in high-ranking scientific journals indexed in Scopus and Web of Science, and 9 articles in journals recommended by the Committee for the Development of Science and Scientific-Technical Expertise of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The faculty is also involved in several grant and program-targeted funding projects as leaders or participants.
A joint project with the A.H. Margulan Institute of Archaeology is one of the highlights of the department`s work. One of the significant events was the organization of the "AKYNZHANOV READINGS - 2024" International Scientific Conference for students and young scientists, held from April 24 to 26, 2024. Young scientists from all over the country gathered to discuss urgent issues in domestic archaeology. The well-organized conference was well-received by the young researchers.
Additionally, from June 2 to 15, 2024, the department held an archaeological field practice for first-year students from the Faculty of History and Law. Two teams of faculty members and students worked at two archaeological sites in the Almaty region alongside specialists from the A. Margulan Institute of Archaeology, gaining valuable archaeological experience.
