ABAI UNIVERSITY IS STRENGTHENING ITS CONNECTIONS WITH TURKEY IN THE FIELDS OF HIGHER EDUCATION AND CULTURE


An important meeting took place at the Consulate General of the Republic of Turkey in Almaty, Kazakhstan. The Consul General, Evren Müderrisoglu, Education Attaché, Korkmaz Ayhan, and the Chairman of the Board-Rector of Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University, Bolat Tilep, discussed matters related to the development of bilateral cooperation.

 

During the meeting, Rector Bolat Tilep noted the history and achievements of Abai University. «Currently, the University has partnerships with 25 countries around the world. Cooperation with Turkey occupies a special place. Currently, it works closely with 18 universities in Turkey, and over the past three years, more than 200 students have participated in academic programs», - Bolat Tilep said.

 

At the meeting, Bоlat Tilep expressed to Consul General Evren his desire to continue expanding cooperation with higher education institutions in Turkey. He also shared plans to open a special library that would ensure cultural and scientific cooperation with Turkey. At the bilateral meeting, the parties noted that relations have been established with Keykubat University, Denizli University and Kyrksehir University in Alanya and agreements have been concluded to open Abai centers in these educational institutions. The goal is to strengthen the historical ties between the universities of the two countries.

 

Turkey has expressed its readiness to continuously elevate the level of educational and cultural relations. Furthermore, support was conveyed for the establishment of new connections with leading universities in Turkey. The roundtable discussion focused on the development of Turkish language courses and the expansion of academic programs.

 

The Turkish side stated its intention to send additional specialists to the university for Turkish language instruction. In conclusion of the meeting, the parties agreed to implement joint projects, including the organization of a Turkish World conference and the promotion of the Turkish language and culture.
