Meeting with 1st year students on the topic "Ludomania, suicide, bullying, harassment"

On February 5-6, 2025, Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University hosted a meeting with first-year students on the topic Causes of Harassment, Bullying, Gambling Addiction, and Suicide Cases Among Students and Ways to Combat Them. The event was organized by the Department of Social and Youth Policy.

The purpose of the meeting was to improve students psychosocial well-being, increase awareness of social issues, encourage young people to avoid harmful habits prevalent in modern society, and emphasize the importance of quality education and moral upbringing. Speakers at the event included Vice-Rector for Social Development Maksat Zhakaуov, Director of the Department of Social and Youth Policy Rakhymberdi Zhetibay, and department heads Kainar Malikov, Meruert Tadzhibaeva, Zhanar Dzhaimakhanova, Raimbek Pirali and Aliya Musanova. They conducted informational sessions on the causes of harassment, bullying, gambling addiction, and suicide cases among students, as well as methods of prevention and intervention. During the meeting, students had the opportunity to openly discuss issues related to their health, psychological well-being, and social behavior, as well as exchange views on their personal challenges and difficulties.

Additionally, important information was provided on ensuring psychological safety and improving access to psychological support services. At the end of the meeting, participants received a detailed explanation of the Code of Ethics and the Oath of the Future Educator, which promote professional integrity and fulfillment of educational responsibilities.
