Strengthening Kazakh-French Strategic Partnership

On February 11, 2025, a meeting was held at Abai University between the university s leadership and representatives of the Embassy of France in the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Consulate General of France in Almaty, headed by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Sylvain Guiaugue.

One of the key discussion points was facilitating the signing of Cooperation Agreements with universities affiliated with the Sorbonne brand (INALCO, Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University, etc.), as well as exploring the prospects for establishing a Center for Methodology of Foreign Language (French) in collaboration with the University of Poitiers and other partner institutions. Additionally, the meeting addressed preparatory work for the Summer School in 2026.

This visit has outlined new opportunities for collaboration between Abai University and French partner universities, providing further momentum for strengthening the Kazakh-French strategic partnership.
