A lecture on «Legal culture – a safe society» was held

On February 20, 2025, a lecture on «Legal culture - a safe society» organized by the Psychological Support Service was held. The purpose of the lecture is to increase the legal culture and political cognitive activity of students, legal education through the inculcation of moral virtues and freedom of conscience, honesty and kindness, as well as the prevention of harassment, ludomania, bullying among students.

The lecture was given by Talgat Dyusebayev, a graduate of the Faculty of Law of Abai University, Lawyer, PhD, Vice-Rector for Educational Work and Socio-cultural Development of D.A. Kunayeva University.

The participants discussed current and important topics related to drug addiction, gambling, intimidation, and harassment. These questions sparked an active discussion, during which the participants asked questions to the lawyer, shared their thoughts and discussed examples from personal experience. In the second part of the lecture, the young people were shown social videos that led them to reflect. The students showed great interest and actively participated in the discussions. Such meetings not only increase legal literacy, but also help young people navigate life correctly.

According to the lawyer, knowing their rights helps people to behave confidently in any life situation, be it labor disputes, conflicts with people or interaction with government agencies.

About 150 students of our university took part in the lecture.
