Meeting with representatives of the Pantheon-Sorbonne University (Paris)

Almaty, February 25, 2025 - Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University hosted a meeting with representatives of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University (France). This visit marked a significant step in strengthening international academic cooperation between the two universities.

The meeting was attended by the Rector of Abai KazNPU - Tilep Bolat, as well as official representatives of the French university: Antoine Devoucoux du Buysson - Deputy Director of the Department of International Relations; François-Xavier Nérard - Associate Professor of History, Deputy Dean for International Relations; Nazerke Mukhtarkyzy - Responsible for university and cultural projects at the French Embassy in Kazakhstan.

On behalf of Abai KazNPU, the following representatives were present: Banu Narbekova - Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs; Aigul Iskakova - Vice-Rector for Strategy and Internationalization; Ainur Sabitova - Director of the "Sorbonne-Kazakhstan" Institute; Bayan Sapargaliyeva - Director of the Department of International Cooperation.

During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for developing academic cooperation, including joint educational programs, student and faculty exchanges, and the implementation of research projects. Particular attention was given to strengthening Franco-Kazakhstani partnerships in higher education.

The Rector of Abai KazNPU emphasized the importance of partnerships with leading European universities and expressed confidence in further expanding cooperation with Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University. The French delegation highlighted the high level of training of Kazakhstani students and expressed their willingness to implement new initiatives.

As a result of the meeting, specific steps were outlined to enhance collaboration, opening new opportunities for students and faculty from both universities.
