Abai University scientist received the Academician N. Bazanova Award

On March 6, 2025, in Almaty, on the eve of International Women`s Day, the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, with the support of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, for the first time held a solemn ceremony of awarding the N. Bazanova Award for domestic women scientists.

The event was attended by about 400 leading women scientists, researchers, teachers and heads of universities and scientific organizations who have made a special contribution to the development of Russian science.

The awards named after Academician N. Bazanova were solemnly presented to 48 leading women scientists and researchers for their outstanding achievements, high scientific potential and significant results in various fields of science.

Among the awardees is the dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Geography of the Kazakh National Pedagogical University named after Abai, Doctor of Geographical Sciences, Professor Kulyash Kaimuldinova.

It should be noted that Academician Nailya Orazgulovna Bazanova (1911-1993) was the first female academician in Kazakhstan and Central Asia, the founder of a new field of biological science - the physiology of farm animals. She became the first Kazakh woman to receive the degree of Doctor of Biological Sciences (1945), professor (1946), academician of the Academy of Sciences of the Kazakh SSR (1951), and was also awarded the title of Honored Scientist of Kazakhstan (1946).
