Conference "2025 – International Year of Peace and Trust"

On March 18-19, 2025, Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University hosted the International Scientific and Theoretical Conference "2025 – International Year of Peace and Trust", dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan`s neutrality.

The event was organized by the Consulate of Turkmenistan in Almaty, Abai KazNPU and Makhtumkuli Turkmen State University. The conference brought together representatives of the academic community, the diplomatic corps, and ethnocultural associations interested in developing scientific and educational ties between Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan.

In her opening remarks, Aigul Iskakova, Vice-Rector for Strategy and Internationalization of Abai KazNPU, emphasized the importance of international cooperation in science and education. In his speech, Nurymurat Rozydzhumaev, Consul of Turkmenistan in Almaty, highlighted the significance of Turkmenistan`s neutrality policy as a key factor in ensuring stability and sustainable development in the region.

A key focus of the conference was the role of science and education in strengthening interstate humanitarian ties. Representatives of universities from Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan shared their experiences in academic mobility, joint scientific research, and student exchange programs.

At the conclusion of the conference, a ceremony was held to recognize Turkmen students studying at Abai KazNPU for their active participation in the university`s educational and cultural events. A creative program was also organized, featuring readings of poetry by the great Turkmen poet Makhtumkuli.

The conference was held in a hybrid format, with attendees joining online, while offline participants actively took part in plenary sessions and master classes. This conference significantly contributed to strengthening cooperation between Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan in the fields of education and science.
