Student theaters "Urker" and "Shyn" returned from the republican festival with awards

On April 1-2, 2025, the Saken Seifullin Kazakh Agrotechnical Research University in Astana hosted the national student theater festival "Babalar Zholy - Khalqynyn Murasy, Urpaqqa Amanaty". The festival aimed to foster spiritual, moral, and aesthetic education for the younger generation while promoting traditions and national values. Among the participants were the student theaters "Urker" and "Shyng" from Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University, which secured 1st and 2nd places, respectively.

The festival featured eight student theater groups from across Kazakhstan. The Urker theater presented the play "Abai-Togzhan", while Shyng performed "Zhazyǵym ne menің, mama?" ("What Is My Fault, Mom?").

The two-day festival opened on April 1 with a ceremony followed by performances from four student theaters. On the first day, Shyng took the stage, impressing the jury with its directorial execution. On the second day, Urker`s performance also received special recognition from the judges.

As a result, Urker won 1st place among the eight student theaters, while Shyng took 2nd place. Additionally, Shyng`s director, Zhomart Rakhimzhan, received the award for "Best Male Role".
