“Open Library” Exhibition Held as Part of Science Week


From April 7 to 12, 2025, an "Open Library" exhibition was held at Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University as part of Science Week. The event was dedicated to the 180th anniversary of the great Kazakh writer and thinker Abai Qunanbaiuly. Its main goal was to widely promote Abai`s creative and spiritual heritage and bring it closer to every reader.

 

During Science Week, special events were organized in the university`s reading halls (located at Tole bi 86, Kazbek bi 30, and Zhambyl 25). These events were aimed at deepening the understanding of Abai`s legacy and increasing interest in his works.

 

What awaited visitors during the "Open Library" days?
 A special book exhibition dedicated to Abai`s works: Valuable books and academic studies related to the life and work of Abai were presented.
 Screenings of educational and documentary films: A series of documentaries titled "Abai Qunanbaiuly" was shown.

 Lectures and presentations on Abai studies: Engaging lectures explored Abai`s philosophy, literary legacy, and his contributions to Kazakh literature.
 Literary discussions from the library collection: Attendees had the opportunity to delve into Abai`s poetry and prose through discussions, gaining deeper insights into his thoughts.


 Library night titled "Knowledge Lies in Books...": This special evening allowed participants to immerse themselves in Abai`s wisdom and explore his literary and moral teachings.
 Open dialogues and debates: Conversations were held to discuss the influence of Abai`s works on modern society, education, and culture.

 

The overall aim of the exhibition was to promote Abai`s legacy, spark literary interest among readers, and pave the way for academic exploration. Each visitor had the chance to feel the depth of Abai`s thoughts and draw inspiration from his timeless wisdom.

 

During these days, the library doors were open to all. The event created a meaningful space for spiritual reflection and deepened appreciation for Kazakh literature through the profound teachings of Abai Qunanbaiuly.
