In the 80th anniversary of the great victory, the contest "veterans of courage from the point of view of the younger generation" was organized

On April 17, 2025, the University, with the support of the Department of Social and Youth Policy in Ideological Areas of the Meirim Volunteer Club, under the leadership of Associate Professor Shirinbayeva Gulbakhira, completed the first stage of the video contest entitled "The younger generation`s View of the feat of veterans" within the framework of the project "Ball of Winners-2025" organized by the Public Foundation "Council of Veterans WWII veterans, home front workers and war children" of the city of Almaty.

The competition was attended by volunteer students of 1-2 courses, specializing in "6B01801-Social pedagogy", "6B01201-Preschool education and upbringing", "6B03111-Training of a practical psychologist". The purpose of the video contest is to foster patriotism through preserving the memory of the historical past of our Motherland, the feat of the victorious people, and expressing attention and respect for the participants of the Great Patriotic War and home front workers through creative self-realization. During the competition, the volunteers distributed food baskets from the Council of WWII Veterans, Home Front Workers and War Children, congratulated the veterans and expressed warm wishes to them, visiting 20 houses and apartments in different districts of Almaty. In turn, the veterans thanked the volunteers for their attention and were happy to share their memories of the war and post-war years, touching not only on the events of their personal lives, but also on the entire nation that won the bloodiest war in the history of mankind. As part of the competition, the participants tried to see the war through the eyes of the younger generation, who were born and raised in peacetime. We studied materials about veterans who talk about heroism at the front and in the rear of the war years. They learned the truth about the war, no matter how bitter it was, by asking difficult questions that contain tragedy and heroism. As a result, they opened new pages of our history about the exploits of veterans and everyday life at the front, in the rear and in the peaceful post-war period.

It should be noted that the winners of the contests will be determined and awarded on 04/23/2025 at the upcoming solemn event "The Ball of Winners-2025", organized by the Public Foundation "Council of WWII Veterans, Home Front Workers and Children of War" in Almaty.
