Workshop on Existential Psychology and Logotherapy


On April 17, 2025, a workshop titled «Existential Psychology and Logotherapy Practicum» was held for 1st to 3rd-year students, organized by senior lecturer of the Department of General and Applied Psychology, Candidate of Psychological Sciences Nurgul Begaliyeva, at the Faculty of Pedagogy and Psychology.

 

The workshop was organized within the framework of academic practice for 1st-year students of the educational program «6B03111 - Training of Practical Psychologist» in accordance with the curriculum. The main objective of the event was to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the theory and practical application of existential psychology and logotherapy.

 

As a guest speaker, practicing psychologist and logotherapist Amangeldy Meirambekuly, Head of the «Logotherapy in Central Asia» Center, was invited. During the session, A. Meirambekuly provided an in-depth overview of existential psychology as one of the branches of humanistic psychology. He also shared valuable insights into the theory and practice of existential therapy and logotherapy, including topics such as existential vacuum, the search for meaning in life, and effective psychological support methods for clients suffering from neurosis.

 

The workshop was attended by senior lecturer, PhD Nurgaysha Kudusheva, senior lecturer, Candidate of Psychological Sciences Nurgul Begaliyeva, and all 1st to 3rd-year psychology students. The participating students actively discussed the effectiveness and practical application of logotherapy, exchanged opinions, and shared their thoughts. The session sparked increased interest in their future profession among the students.
