Psychological express consultation event "Psycho Express Abai "Psycho Express Abai" was held at Abai University

On April 23, 2025, the Psychological support service within the framework of the project of the Coordinating Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan «Safe Environment» held an event of psychological express counseling «Psycho Express Abai».

The main purpose of the event is to create a psychologically comfortable environment among students, provide psychological support to students, increase their psychological culture and potential, as well as exchange experience with specialists from psychological support services.

The event was attended by leading psychologists from Psychological support services of higher educational institutions in Kazakhstan, including KBTU, MUIT, Almaty Management University, Astana International University, Karaganda Buketov University, Zhetysu University, Satbayev University, ALT University, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Kurmangazy National Research University, L.B. Goncharov KazADI, ASUE, KazNAI named after T. Zhurgenov, International Educational Corporation, Kaznatszhenpu, ALT University named after M. Tynyshbaev.

During the event, invited psychological specialists conducted individual psychological express consultations for Abai University students, introducing them to such areas of psychology as art therapy, psychoanalysis, cognitive behavioral therapy, gestalt therapy, metaphorical associative maps, integrative dance and movement therapy, reeling therapy, neurography and profiling.

As part of the «Psycho Express Abai» event, a psychological seminar «Gambling as a form of behavioral disorder in youth: modern strategies for prevention and psychological and pedagogical support» was held. The seminar was conducted by Olga Tapalova, Doctor of Psychology, Research Professor at the Department of General and Applied Psychology at Abai University, Suyundykova Nurgul, doctoral student at Abai University, practical psychologist, and Sanam Akhatova, undergraduate student at Abai University. The purpose of the seminar is to improve psychological literacy, exchange experience, and exchange theoretical and practical materials on the prevention and control of addiction. During the seminar, Olga Tapalova gave theoretical information about the concept of «gambling», types of gambling addiction and their causes. Also, in the second part of the seminar, Nurgul Suyundykova and Sanam Akhatova shared practical exercises for emotion management, cognitive restructuring, aimed at stress management and gambling prevention. The event was attended by about 300 university students, who received comprehensive answers to their questions, directions and unique methods from psychologists aimed at comprehensive personality development. The psychological express consultation event «Psycho Express Abai» promotes the promotion of Psychological support and Psychology services at the university, emphasizing its importance and usefulness for every student. The special feature of this format is that it allows you to reach more students in less time.

At the end of the event, the Vice-Rector for Social Development of the University, Maksat Zhakauov, presented letters of thanks to leading psychologists from universities in Kazakhstan and speakers who conducted the seminar.
