International Scientific and Practical Conference "The Core Values of the New Kazakhstan: From the Innovative Ideas of 20th-Century Teachers to Modern Innovations in Education"

On April 25, 2025, an international scientific and practical conference titled "The Core Values of the New Kazakhstan: From the Innovative Ideas of 20th-Century Teachers to Modern Innovations in Education" was held at the Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory and the 100th anniversary of the USSR People`s Teacher, Kumash Nurgaliyev.

The purpose of the conference was to define innovation and novelty in Kazakhstan`s contemporary education system, to study the pedagogical legacy of Kumash Nurgaliyev, and to reexamine his contributions to the education sector of the 20th century from a modern perspective.

At the solemn opening of the conference, the rector of the university read a congratulatory letter from the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Sayasat Nurbek.

Kumash Nurgaliyev was a veteran of the Great Patriotic War, the first teacher to be awarded the title of USSR People`s Teacher, and a significant figure in the development of Kazakhstan`s education system. During the conference, his teaching career and pedagogical views were discussed, particularly how they influenced modern educational practices.

Participants of the conference explored the connection between the innovative ideas of the great teachers of the 20th century and modern innovations in education, and discussed reforms in the education system.

The conference also widely discussed the core values of the new Kazakhstan, particularly focusing on innovative education and the revival of national pedagogical heritage.
