"Family Without Violence: Dialogue, Prevention, Protection" Forum


On April 29, 2025, Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University hosted a forum titled "Family Without Violence: Dialogue, Prevention, Protection" within the framework of the "Law and Order" initiative, launched by the Almaty City Prosecutor`s Office.


The event was attended by the Prosecutor of Almaty city Serik Karipbekov, Head of the Almaty City Police Department Arystangani Zapparov, Deputy Akim of Almaty city Asem Nusipova, public and political figure Orazgul Asangazy, Chairman of the Board-Rector of Abai KazNPU Bolat Tilep, Children`s Rights Commissioner of Almaty city Diana Yerlankyzy, along with representatives of local executive and state bodies, as well as non-governmental organizations.


The main goal of the forum was to preserve family values, prevent violence, and protect family rights through open dialogue and effective measures. During the event, various aspects of domestic violence, its consequences, and psychological impacts were discussed.


In his opening speech, the Chairman of the Board-Rector of Abai University, Bolat Tilep, emphasized the university`s ongoing work in the field of violence prevention.


"By promoting both education and upbringing, we aim to form a strong immunity against violence in the minds of future generations. Every student raised within the walls of our university should become someone who fosters respect and understanding - not violence - within their families and communities," said the rector.


Within the framework of the forum, issues such as strengthening family culture, increasing legal literacy among youth, and reducing the consequences of violence were widely discussed. Among the audience were individuals registered in relevant support programs, university students, and expert specialists.


As part of its social responsibility mission, Abai University regularly organizes seminars, trainings, legal consultation services, and awareness campaigns. The university`s Psychological Support Service also provides assistance to both students and staff.


It should be noted that the forum was initiated by the Department for Social and Youth Policy.
