Forum “Family Without Violence: Dialogue, Prevention, Protection”

On April 29, 2025, a forum titled "Family Without Violence: Dialogue, Prevention, Protection" was held at Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University as part of the "Law and Order" initiative, organized at the initiative of the Almaty City Prosecutor`s Office.

Participants included Almaty City Prosecutor Serik Karipbekov, Head of the Almaty Police Department Arystangani Zapparov, Deputy Akim of Almaty Assem Nusipova, public and political figure Orazkul Asangazy, Chairman of the Board - Rector of Abai KazNPU Bolat Tilep, Almaty`s Commissioner for Children`s Rights Diana Yerlanqyzy, as well as representatives of local executive and state bodies and non-governmental organizations.

The aim of the forum was to discuss the preservation of family values, the prevention of violence, and the protection of family rights, and to develop effective measures in these areas. The event addressed issues related to violence in society, its consequences, and psychological effects.

At the forum`s opening ceremony, Chairman of the Board - Rector of Abai KazNPU Bolat Tilep spoke about the university`s efforts in violence prevention.

"We aim to build strong immunity in the minds of future generations against violence by developing education and upbringing in parallel. Each graduate of our university should become a person who promotes respect and mutual understanding, not violence, within their family and community," the rector stated in his speech.

In addition, the forum widely discussed topics such as strengthening family culture, improving legal literacy among youth, and reducing the consequences of violence. Among the attendees were registered citizens in this field, university students, and experts.

It is worth noting that as part of its social responsibility, Abai University regularly conducts seminars, training sessions, legal consultations, and awareness-raising events. The Psychological Support Service continues to provide assistance to students and staff.

The forum was organized by the Psychological Support Service under the Department of Social and Youth Policy.
