Psychologists from KazNPU took part in the III International Forum "Healthy Generation - the wealth of the Nation"

On May 29-30, 2025, with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, ILI was held at Aktobe Regional University named after K. Zhubanov as part of the Otbasy - terbye Bastauy decade.

The International Forum «Healthy Generation is the wealth of the nation». The purpose of the event is to present effective strategies and solutions aimed at improving the system of quality education and psychological support for young people in the context of global changes.

The theme of this year`s forum is «The Formula for Youth Success: Ways to manage risks». The forum discussed initiatives to promote social responsibility, strengthen family values and ensure the health of the younger generation, as well as the exchange of experience with international partners.

The large-scale event was attended by psychologists of the highest category, experts from UNESCO, ISESCO, the United Nations, youth policy, representatives of The National Commission, local government and law enforcement agencies, as well as scientists from almost 15 universities of the country and universities of Uzbekistan and Great Britain. Laura Karabasova, Rector of the University and moderator of the forum, wished the participants good luck and noted that this event is a platform not only for discussing topical issues, but also for initiating concrete actions.

At the plenary session, Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Higher and Postgraduate Education The Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Akerke Abylaikhan noted the importance of timely psychological assistance to young people.

Deputy Chairman of the National Commission for Women and Family and Demographic Policy under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, political scientist Zhuldyzai Iskakova focused on the initiatives put forward by the National Commission as part of the implementation of the instructions of the Head of State given at the National Kurultai.

The forum was attended by more than 500 specialists from all over the country. The forum, which was attended by specialists from Psychological Support Services of universities, experts in the field of youth policy, sociology, representatives of the scientific community and practitioners, was attended by coordinator of the Psychological Support Service Saida Kosbai and psychologist Aliya Musanova from the Kazakh National Pedagogical University named after Abai.

In the second part of the forum, psychologists took part in a breakout session on psychological risks. Sergey Vladimirovich Sklyar, Candidate of Medical Sciences, psychiatrist of the highest category, psychotherapist, Vice-President of the Eurasian Association of Cognitive Behavioral Psychotherapy, speaker, shared his experience on topical issues of suicidology in the Republic of Kazakhstan on the topic «Fundamentals of cognitive behavioral psychotherapy (CBT) for depressive disorders characterized by suicidal behavior».

It should be noted that in 2024, Abai University and the Psychological Support Service signed a memorandum of cooperation with the S. Sklyar Psychotherapy Center.

On the second day of the forum, psychologists took part in a round table discussion on the topic «Psychological practice today: problems, boundaries and opportunities». During the event, issues of reducing educational social risks among young people were discussed, and an exchange of experience took place. At the end of the forum, the participants were awarded certificates.

Zhubanov University specialists, together with the forum participants, laid flowers at the monument in honor of the 100th anniversary of Aliya Moldagulova. There was also a guided tour of the regional Memorial Museum of Hero of the Soviet Union Aliya Moldagulova and the sights of the city.

Psychological support service
