International scientific and practical conference on the topic: "Nygmet Nurmakov - statesman and public figure: tragic years in the fate of the nation and the Kazakh political elite"

On June 13, 2025, an international scientific and practical conference was held under the organization of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Faculty of History of Academician E.A. Buketov Karaganda University, the Akimat of Karaganda Region, the Department of Internal Policy of Karaganda Region, KSU "Kogamdyk Kelisim" (Public Accord), as well as the Public Association "Association of Departments of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan `Shanyraq`.The conference was titled:"Nygmet Nurmakov - statesman and public figure: tragic years in the fate of the nation and the Kazakh political elite", dedicated to the 130th anniversary of Nygmet Nurmakov`s birth.

Kundyzbai Diana Kuantaikyzy, a 3rd-year doctoral student of the Department of Modern and Contemporary History of Kazakhstan named after Academician T.S. Sadykov at Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University, participated in the conference and presented a paper titled: "The issue of forced migration of Kazakhs in the 1920s-1930s: in the context of migration theories"in the section "Historical Memory and National Consciousness: Contemporary Perspectives."Historians and scholars from Kazakhstan and abroad took part in the conference, delivering valuable presentations related to the country`s history. A presentation of the work titled "Repressive Policies of the Soviet Era: In Central Kazakhstan" was held. Scholarships were awarded to young researchers of the Faculty of History on behalf of the Shanshar Zharlygapp Tileukeuly Foundation and the N. Nurmakov Foundation.
