Almaty Enters the TOP-100 of the QS Best Student Cities 2026 Ranking

The city of Almaty has been included among the best cities in the world for student life and education, ranking 91st in the international QS Best Student Cities 2026 ranking. This marks Almaty`s first entry into this global ranking.

The ranking is based on several key criteria such as safety, quality of urban infrastructure, affordability of living and education, attractiveness for international students, and employment opportunities after graduation. Almaty received high scores in categories like "affordability of living and education," "student diversity," "city attractiveness for students," and "student opinion."

The leaders of the global ranking were Seoul, Tokyo, and London. The top ten also included cities from Germany, France, Switzerland, Australia, and Austria. Among Central Asian cities, three were highlighted: Almaty (91st), Astana (127th), and Bishkek (138th).

Almaty is one of the main higher education centers in Kazakhstan. It is home to the country`s leading national universities:
