Abai University Staff Watched the President`s Address Live

Today, in his traditional Address to the People of Kazakhstan, Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev announced the establishment of the Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development, emphasizing that the country must become a fully digital state within the next three years. The teaching and professorial staff of Abai University listened to the Address live and shared their thoughts.

The issue of artificial intelligence is highly relevant worldwide. Therefore, the President`s Address touches upon these values and highlights the need to be prepared for potential risks. The document aims to resolve these complex challenges and serves as a new program for the government.

In the future, the field of pedagogy must also be ready for new challenges. For example, schools will teach the basics of artificial intelligence, and a new model school called `Қазақ Digital` will be introduced. These initiatives are intended to modernize the education system and open the way for young people to acquire contemporary digital skills.

Bolat Tilep, Chairman of the Board and Rector of Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University, listened to the President`s Address live in Astana, while board members and teaching staff of the university discussed it online.

Banu Narbekova, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, noted the special attention given to education in the Address. She emphasized that integrating artificial intelligence into the learning process is an important step in line with the demands of the time. Abai University, with its high scientific potential and rapid acceptance of innovation, is determined to actively incorporate these developments into its educational process. Maksat Zhakauov, Vice-Rector for Social Development, highlighted the political strategy of the Address, emphasizing its two main pillars: industrial development and political transformation. He also noted that using artificial intelligence in working with students will open up new experiences.

Nurzhamal Oshanova, Director of the Department for Educational Program Analysis, also highlighted the important steps taken in the Address concerning education and digitalization. According to her, the establishment of the Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development, the country`s transition to a fully digital state, and the new `Қазақ Digital` school model to be introduced in secondary schools are innovative initiatives aimed at renewing the education system.

The staff and students of Abai University support the new initiatives outlined in the President`s Address and are actively involved in adapting to the new technological environment.
