AMONG THE YOUNG RESEARCHERS PASSED

AI HACKATHON COMPETITION

An AI Hackathon based on artificial intelligence was held at Abai University today. New projects of young researchers aimed at commercialization were presented here. This is a project implemented directly on the basis of the state program AI-SANA. The contest participants have prepared programs and chatbots necessary in the field of pedagogy using artificial intelligence.

The AI-Sana program provides for the development of students skills in the field of artificial intelligence. Thus, it is aimed at increasing the potential of the national economy and supporting technological entrepreneurship. The participants of the final stage of the AI Hackathon competition presented such scientific projects as "ABAI FUTUREAI", "Mentor", "Unitalk", "PortAI". For example, the program "ABAI FUTUREAI" contains biographies, parables, poems, edifications and lectures on Abai studies by the great thinker Abai Kunanbayuly. A video clip has been prepared based on the poet is biography, and the words of edification are written in Kazakh, Russian, English, and Chinese.

One of the new projects of the competition is the Mentor, which supports the student is academic loyalty and encourages his own research. This is a chatbot running in the telegram app. Today, students copy ready-made information from the world-famous ChatGPT platform and reduce their logical and critical thinking abilities. In this regard, the "mentor" provides the student not with textual information, but with a list of books and sources for research, and a research structure. It is a tool that guides thinking.

The Unitalk project aimed at improving the quality of education was also presented. Here students have the opportunity to find tutors in various subjects and choose the time of online classes. Not only certified specialists, but also students here can work as tutors for students. In the project, artificial intelligence prepares questions for differentiating the student is knowledge and determining the level.

The PortAi Digital Bridge project was also presented, which helps the teacher to check the assignment completed by the student using artificial intelligence. Especially the art students need the guidance of a teacher. And during a group lesson, the only teacher may not be able to keep up with all the students. At such a moment, with the help of the "PortAI" device, the student can reflect and get ideas for the development of his creation.

Also in this competition, the ABA team included the project "UniSched AI" in the competition, which forms the schedule of classes in educational institutions. Here, having studied the teachers and subjects, and implemented a database of classrooms, the AI will prepare an effective class schedule. Thus, all schools, colleges, and universities can solve some problems.

As a result of the competition, Tolkyn Dildabek and the SmartAi team received incentive prizes. And the prize-winning 3rd place (200 000 tenge) Parinbai Nur 2nd place (300 000 tenge) was taken by the AVA team.  The Unistars team took the first place (500 000 tenge).
