Baimolda Dossan

 

SHORT AUTOBIOGRAPHY

Dossan Baimolda was born on April 26, 1956 in the city of Ulgei of the Bayan Ulgi aimak, Mongolia.

In 1973 he has graduated Kazakh school №1 of the Ulgei city, Bayan Ulgi aimak, Mongolia.

In 1973, he studied at the preparatory department of the Lodz University in Lodz, Poland.

In 1974-1977 he studied at the Faculty of Physics in the Warsaw University, Poland.

In 1977-1980, he studied in Lublin University named after a world famous Polish woman, twice Nobel prize laureate for discovering of Radium and Polonium, Maria Curie- Sklodowska. He conducted scientific work "Research of the isotopes of oxygen and serum in underground water using the mass spectrometer" and on May 31, 1980, he defended the diploma paper with honors and received Masters degree in Physical science.

In 1980-1982, he worked as a research fellow in the department of the nuclear radiation research in the Institute of Physics and Technics of the Academy of Sciences of Mongolia in Ulanbator.

In 1982-1992, he worked as senior research fellow and head of l aboratory in Chemistry Institute of Mongolian Academy of Sciences.

In 1981-1984 he studied in the Institute of Politology in the Mongolian Capital of Ulan Bator and received higher political education.

In 1984-1986, he successfully graduated two-yearly course of English language in Mongolian National State University. In 1984-1988, he has worked as a head of two scientific projects at the same time. The projects were implemented by international organizations of IAEA (MAGATE) and UNESCO for the first time in the Institute of Chemistry.

In 1987-1988, he took part in the two-month internship in the Institute of Geology and Geotechnics in Prague (Czechoslovakia) and, in 1989, a 45-day internship in the Institute of Atomic Energy in Warsaw (Poland).

In 1992, he does scientific work during four month in the central laboratory of IAEA (MAGATE) in Vienna (Austria). His articles on «Using of methods of nuclear physics for coal and other minerals analysis» are published in influential scientific journals such as «Journal of Radioanalytical and Nuclear Chemistry», «X-Ray Spectrometry», «Radiation Physics and Chemistry Journal».

In 1993-1996 he studied in the doctorate programm of the Technical University in Prague (Czech Republic) and he received a degree of a Doctor of Physics. The theme of his doctoral thesis is «Application of X-ray fluorescence analysis in the coal industry». His articles on this theme are published in renown scientific journals in Great Britain, Holland, Austria, Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary and Mongolia.

During 1996-2002 years with the invitation from the management of the world known radio station Radio Free Europe/ Radio Liberty in Prague, he worked as the advisor and editor of the Kazakh service. In 2002-2008,he has worked as the senior correspondent of this radio for Kazakhstan.

Since 2008, with the offer from the Kazakh National Pedagogical University named after Abai in Almaty he worked as senior lecturer at the departament of International Journalism. Since 2011, he is acting professor and head of the Department of Journalism in the KazNPU named after Abai.

In 2013-2014, as the winner of the Kazakhstan President`s Program Bolashak he takes a one year internship in the University of Adam Mickievich in Poznan (Poland). In 2015, upon the invitation from specialists of the scientific center on Central Asia of the Gumboldt University (Germany, Berlin), he undergoes scientific internship under the German program of academic exchange DAAD.

In 2015-2016, he worked as a senior researcher at the Abai research center at KazNPU named after Abai. Since 2017 he has been working as an Associate Professor of the Department of Physics of the Institute of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics of KazNPU named after Abay.

In 2018 he was elected a corresponding member of the National Academy of Natural Sciences of Kazakhstan. In 2019, by the decision of the Control Committee of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, he was awarded the title of Associated Professor of Physics. At this time, he published 2 monographs in English and Kazakh in the field of nuclear physics, 8 scientific articles in leading journals on nuclear physics, which are included in the Thomson Reuters database, Scopus. Published more than 100 scientific articles and about 200 informational articles in scientific journals. Took part in about 50 scientific and practical conferences of foreign and republican levels. His index H=2. Currently he is the scientific advisor of 3 PhD doctoral students. According to the rating indicator among the teaching staff of the department, he took 1st place, at the institute, 3rd place, and at the university among 886 teaching staff, he showed the highest 26th place. Since 2022 he was appointed as editorial board member of American Journal of Physics and Applications (AJPA) and in 2022 he was elected as academician of the National Academy of Natural Sciences of Kazakhstan.
