The history of the formation and development of the department of political science and socio-philosophical disciplines of the Institute of History and Law
The Department of Political Science and Socio-Philosophical Disciplines of the Institute of History and Law of the Kazakh National Pedagogical University named after Abai was founded in September 2009. From the moment of foundation of the department until September 1, 2018, the head of the department was Doctor of Philosophical Disciplines, Professor, corresponding member of the National Academy of Sciences of Kazakhstan Absattarov Raushanbek Burambaevich.
At this time, Doctor of Political Sciences, Professor Simtikov Zhomart Kudaibergenovich, heads the department of political science and socio-philosophical disciplines.
There are 7 doctors of sciences, professors, 5 candidates of sciences, docents and 2 masters - in total there are 14 teaching staff at the department. 22 doctoral students and 24 undergraduates participate in the research work. Among them are well-known scientists - political scientists, sociologists and philosophers of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Absattarov R. B., Kabaeva Zh.K., Kusainov D.U.
The department has a PhD doctoral degree program in political science, sociology and philosophy and a magistracy in five specialties. Since August 2018, a bachelor`s degree has been opened in five specialties: political science, philosophy, sociology, religious studies and cultural studies.
Currently, undergraduates and doctoral students of the department continue to successfully engage in research work on the topics of their doctoral and master`s theses,
The specific results of the research work of the department are reflected in various fields of activity of teachers of doctoral students and undergraduates. Published scientific papers have both scientific and theoretical significance, and applied value. The results of research work is used in the educational process.
Edited by Professor R.B.Absattarov continues the issue of the scientific journal Bulletin KazNPU named after Abai, the series «Sociological and Political Sciences», which, on the basis of the order of Committee for the Control of Science and Education, was included in the list of publications for publication of the main scientific results of dissertations on political and sociological work, as Kazakhstan authors , and foreign scientists. Also, doctoral students and undergraduates of this department participate in the work of international and scientific conferences, including in scientific seminars and round tables of this Institute.
The department conducts joint activities with the Department of Political Science and Sociology of the French State University - Lyon-2. And also conducted joint activities with the University of Friendship of Peoples (Russian Federation). With Rameris University (Lithuania), with the University of London (UK), with the University of Istanbul (Republic of Turkey), with the University of Korea (Seoul), Kiev and Belarusian Universities, etc.
From November 24-27, 2010, Professor of Istanbul University, Deputy Director of the Yunus Emre Institute - Adnan Tekshen held a master class for undergraduates of our department on research and development features of research activities.
From November 24-27, 2010, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor of the Department of Russian History at the Peoples` Friendship University of Russia, V. M. Kozmenko and Head of the Department of Political Science, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor E.D. Slizovsky visited the Institute of undergraduates and doctoral students and held lectures on research areas.
From March 3-7, 2011, professors at the University of London Bavna Dave held a master class with doctoral students, where they discussed a range of issues and experience in the scientific development of developed Western countries.
From March 17, 2011, Professor Hans Werner Kuehnkoper, Vice Rector of the Heidelburg University of the German District of Freiburg, held an introductory lecture with a slide show on the theme «The German Education System», where he revealed the main issues of the history of creation and features of the scientific and educational process.
In November-December 2016, master classes were held, lectures were given, as well as advanced training courses for teachers by invited guests of our department, Head of the Department of Religious Studies of Taras Shevchenko Kiev National University, Doctor of Philosophy, Professor Yevgeny Anatolyevich Kharkivshchenko. Courses for undergraduates "Disciplinary Religious Studies in improving the level of teaching the subject" were read during this period. Also the Director of the Center for Social Research of Kyrgyzstan, Doctor of Sociology, Professor Omuraliev Nurbek Ashimkanovich. A course of lectures for undergraduates «The Modern Religious Situation in the Kyrgyz Republic» was delivered.
Our department and the department of «Theoretical and Applied Political Science and Sociology» of Abai KazNPU, together with the department «Political Science» of Al-Farabi KazNU, is engaged in the exchange of experience in scientific activities.
The staff of the department assists in the training of scientific personnel to Kzylorda State University named after Korkyt-ata, M.Auezov South Kazakhstan State University, M.Kh. Dulati Semipalatinsk Pedagogical State University, Sh. Ualikhanov Kokshetau State University.
The teaching department published 15 monographs, 16 textbooks, 2 textbooks, 1 workshop. 2 brochures, more than 262 articles, of which 63 are overseas 137 reports at international and republican conferences, 16 of them are foreign, the main content of which in general meets the goals and objectives set by the department in studying the socio-political problems of modern Kazakhstan and the world.
In 2010-2011 The team of the Department of Political Science and Socio-Economic Disciplines conducted research in 5 priority areas of basic scientific research, approved by the Council of the Institute and at the meeting of the department.
Main research areas:
- еthnopolitology of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
- рolitical socialization of personality: a comparative analysis;
- еxternal business environment of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
- сurrent trends in the development of the social structure of Kazakhstan;
- іntegration policy of the world community.
A number of theoretical studies of the processes of the integration policy of the world community, modern trends in the development of the social structure of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the sociology of society, and the culture of communication among nations were also conducted. Among the university departments, our department in the creative, scientific and pedagogical terms occupies one of the leading places.
The Department of Political Science and Socio-Philosophical Disciplines serves all the institutions of Abai KazNPU: Institute of Philology and Multilingual Education, Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology, Institute of Arts, Culture and Sports, Institute of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics, Institute of Natural Science and Geography, Institute of History and Law, Institute Sorbonne-Kazakhstan.
The work of the department is aimed at theoretical and practical training of specialists in accordance with the state general educational standards of higher professional education and the requirements of the credit technology of education.
