Week of Mercy: «Clean House» action at Almaty Oblast Children`s Home No. 1

On April 29, 2022, on social and pedagogical and ecological areas of the club «Meyirim», students volunteers of 2-3 courses of the specialty «6B01801-Social Pedagogy and Self-knowledge» of Department of Preschool Education, Social Pedagogy and Self-Knowledge of the Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology conducted charity event at the Almaty Regional Children`s Home № 1 called «Week of Mercy: Action «Clean Home».

The week in the month of Ramadan began on 23 April and brought together student volunteers and the whole staff of the social institution, who took an active part in the action. It included many procedures: wet cleaning; dusting bookshelves and furniture; cleaning windows, mirrors and glass surfaces; cleaning the outdoor area of the orphanage and other household chores. As a result, the student volunteers have acquired social skills that enable them to carry out quality, prompt cleaning of the house and which will be useful in everyday life. Seeing the results of their selfless work reinforces the volunteers` attitude of «living in unity of thought, word and deed».
