Book Presentation: "The Consequences of the Dark Years"

On April 11, 2025, the presentation of the book "The Consequences of the Dark Years" by Doctor of Historical Sciences Svetlana Smagulova took place in the library hall of the Faculty of History and Law at Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University. The book is dedicated to the famine that occurred in Kazakhstan between 1931 and 1933. The event was held as part of the Decade of Science and organized by the Department of Ancient and Medieval History of Kazakhstan.

Moderated by the Dean of the Faculty, Academician G.K. Kenzhebayev, the presentation brought together renowned scholars, cultural figures, doctoral and master`s students, and undergraduates. Attendees emphasized the significance of the book and proposed translating it into other languages, as well as the idea of producing a film to raise broader awareness about this tragic chapter in Kazakhstan`s history.
