Vacant position:

Deputy Director of Strategy Department

The main functional responsibilities of the structural unit:

- Organization and maintenance of the strategic planning process (conducting sessions on strategic planning, activities to develop strategic goals, work out ways to achieve strategic goals);

- Development of the University Development Strategy; formation of key strategic development documents;

- Ensuring control over the achievement of strategic goals (audit of the Strategy, monitoring of the plan for implementing the objectives of the Strategy and the University Development Plan, the sustainability of the functioning of the strategy processes);

- Control over the implementation of the Development Strategy in the structural divisions of the university;

- Provision of consulting services to structural divisions on the University Development Strategy;

- Qualitative monitoring of the implementation of the Strategy Implementation Plan;

- Organization and coordination of work on the university`s participation in world rankings (institutional, subject, in terms of employability, etc.);

Risk identification and risk management.

Main job responsibilities:

- Preparing the text, making adjustments to it, preparing the presentation of the Strategy;

- Ensuring that structural divisions are informed about the adopted Strategy;

- Analysis of the implementation of the Strategy Implementation Plan;

- Preparation of annual reports/reports on sustainable development/integrated reports of the Company;

- Organization of the Department`s activities, ensuring control over the execution of instructions;

- Ensuring business relations with structural subdivisions of the Company;

- Maintaining the effective functioning of the risk management and internal control system in accordance with the functions of the Department within the framework of the business processes entrusted to it.

Business trip:



Higher, social and humanitarian education.

It is desirable to have an academic degree not lower than a master`s degree.

Availability of certificates of completion of courses of strategic management, management in education, etc.

Required professional experience (duration, scope, other)

5 years, academic field, administrative experience in departments, departments of the university related to the development of strategy, with the participation of the university in various rankings.

Professional competencies:

1. Organization of the development of the Strategy, the plan for the implementation of the Strategy;

2. Constant monitoring of the implementation plan for the implementation of the Strategy of the University and educational institutions;

3. Assistance in holding strategic sessions;

4. Preparation of a report on the implementation of the Development Strategy and Development Plan;

5. Organization of work on the participation of the university in world rankings;

6. Identify risks and suggest ways to minimize risks;

7. Assistance in conducting training of employees on issues related to the competence of the department;

9. Participation in the development of internal regulatory documents of the University.

Personal competencies and qualities:

Sociability, flexibility, responsibility, honesty, dedication, punctuality, teamwork, adaptability, time management, organizational and presentation skills, developed emotional intelligence, stress resistance.

Knowledge of languages, including the state language (list of languages that the candidate must speak)

Kazakh - fluently

Russian - fluently

English - read, write, understand at least level B2 Upper-Intermediate

Computer skills:

Good knowledge of MS Office package (Word, Outlook), Excel, Google Drive/Docs/Meet, ZOOM, PowerPoint, Prezi, Canva, work with Social Media, e-mail, Documentolog.
