Application for the selection of a candidate for a vacant position

 

Name of the vacant position:

Deputy Director of the Department of Academic Affairs

The main functional responsibilities of the structural unit:

- To participate in the activities of the University for the organization of educational process in accordance with the requirements of the state compulsory standards of education of RK, Standard Rules of activity of educational organizations, implementing educational programs of higher education.

- To provide execution of orders of the rector, concerning activity of the department.

- To develop drafts of perspective and annual plans of the Department activity and submit them to the University administration.

- To control the fulfillment of planned events, as well as the quality of works carried out by the Department staff.

- To participate in the development of different concepts, programs and projects of the Department`s activity areas.

- To control planning and distribution of the teaching load of the teaching staff and staff schedule of the departments for the current academic year, to supervise the abidance of the teaching staff by the working discipline.

- To provide drawing up hourly fund of the university and to supervise its rational use.

- To provide the readiness of the auditorium fund for the new academic year.

- To prepare the materials for the Academic Council meetings, to control the fulfillment of the University Academic Council resolutions concerning the educational process organization issues.

- To maintain the policy of informing the University management about potential or existing violations of the anti-corruption policy, conflict of interest policy and requirements of other internal regulations of the University on combating corruption.

Main job responsibilities:

- Monitor the occupancy of classrooms.

- Prepare and present information to the University administration, higher organisations on issues related to the educational process.

- To control the course of studies in the Institutes (Faculties) according to the approved schedules and according to the schedule;

- To organize control of observation of rules of organization and conduction of current control of progress, intermediate and final state attestation in accordance with the requirements of Ministry of Science and Higher Education of RK.

- To take part in working out of the necessary documentation.

- To provide record keeping and document management according to the approved nomenclature of affairs of department, observance of standard requirements, completeness and qualitative registration of the documentation, observance of the established order of its coordination.

- Ensure the participation of the employees in the department`s work profile in the events organized by the University management.

Education:

Higher education, at least Candidate of Science, Doctor of Science

Required professional experience (duration, field, other)

Higher education and at least 5 years of organisational work experience in higher education institutions or other educational organisations

Professional Competencies:

Ability to draw up reports, references, memos, applications, minutes of orders, business letters

Personal competencies and qualities:

Ability to work in a team, diligence, efficiency, honesty, self-control, patience, courage, ability to work with information, confidence, politeness, sympathy, aspiration for perfection in his activity

Knowledge of languages, including the national language (list of languages the candidate must be proficient in)

Kazakh and Russian, English will be a plus

Computer skills:

Ability to work with programs Word, Excel, PowerPoint, e-mail (OutlookExpress), browsers Opera, Chrome, etc.
