Chemistry Masterclass: “Giving Things a Second Life”

On March 17, 2025, the Department of Chemistry at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Geography of Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University hosted an environmental event titled "Kädene Zharat", with the participation of second-year students majoring in 6B05301-Chemistry. The event was organized by second-year doctoral student Zukhra Mukhambetaliyeva and PhD, senior lecturer Asem Uzakhova.

The main goal of the event was to foster environmental responsibility and creative skills among students through working with recyclable waste. During the session, students explored ways to extend the life of materials such as paper, clothing, glass, and plastic, as well as proposed effective recycling methods.

A special guest at the event was Alina Moldakerim, a marketing department representative from the Fabriqa project. She provided valuable insights into clothing recycling, conscious consumption, and environmental sustainability. In her speech, she discussed the impact of textile production on the environment, the consequences of overconsumption, and the importance of proper disposal of old clothing.

Initiatives like "Kädene Zharat" help enhance the environmental awareness of future specialists and contribute to sustainable development.
