Religious Education Issues in Kazakhstan: Presentation of a New Scholarly Work

On April 10, 2025, the Department of Political Science and Socio-Philosophical Disciplines at the Faculty of History and Law of Abai University hosted the presentation of a book by the department`s senior lecturer, PhD Dr. Nurlan Amangazyuly Orynbekov, titled "Religious Extremism and Religious Education: The Kazakhstani Experience." The event was opened by the head of the department, Doctor of Political Sciences, Professor Zhomart Kudaibergenuly Simtikov, who welcomed the guests and expressed his gratitude. The ceremony featured a speech by a special guest - Doctor of Philosophy, Professor, and Academician of the Academy of Social Sciences of Kazakhstan, Tursyn Khafizuly Gabitov, who emphasized the importance of the book and carried out the official unveiling. During the event, members of the "Spiritual Origins" club presented a specially prepared presentation based on the content of the book. At the end of the event, the author of the monograph, Dr. Nurlan Orynbekov, gave a speech outlining the main message of his work: "This issue holds particular importance in the context of Kazakhstan. As a secular state, we guarantee freedom of religion while ensuring that the safety and unity of society remain top priorities," he concluded. The event was attended by the university`s faculty members, doctoral students, and undergraduate students.
