International Cooperation of the Department of Practical English
Today, international cooperation is an essential part of the strategic development of higher education. Collaboration with foreign universities allows the integration of advanced teaching approaches, the exchange of experience, the expansion of academic horizons, and the preparation of professionals who can successfully compete in the global labor market.

The Department of Practical English at the Institute of Philology is actively developing international partnerships, placing a strong emphasis on academic mobility, integration into the global educational space, and the enhancement of the scientific potential of both faculty and students.

Key areas of the department`s international activities:
Improving the quality of student training. Education based on international standards makes the learning process more flexible and modern, while fostering critical thinking and intercultural communication skills.

Expanding employment opportunities. Participation in international internships, exchange programs, and educational projects significantly increases graduates` chances of successful employment both in Kazakhstan and abroad.

Developing language and intercultural competencies. Learning English in the context of international cooperation helps shape highly communicative and in-demand professionals.

Scientific cooperation and knowledge exchange. Joint research, participation in conferences, and publications in international journals contribute to the professional growth of faculty members.

The department pays special attention to participation in national initiatives:
The Bolashak State Scholarship Program. Faculty members and graduates of the department take part in the competitive selection for education and internships at top universities around the world.

The "500 Scientists - International Internships" Project. This initiative by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan offers opportunities for faculty members to undergo scientific internships at foreign research centers, supporting the renewal of educational content and strengthening the department`s academic potential.

During the 2023-2024 academic year, two faculty members completed international internships.

Faculty members M.B. Tulegenova and A.S. Nabidullin completed an internship at Michigan State University (USA) under the "Bolashak" international program from August 20, 2023, to August 21, 2024.

In March 2025, a seminar-training titled "The Bolashak International Program: New Opportunities" is planned. It will include two sections:
a research session: "Writing your journal article in twelve weeks",

a pedagogical innovation session: "Reading Circle".

Participation in international conferences
Faculty members M.B. Tulegenova and A.S. Nabidullin participated in the annual TESOL International Convention & Expo, held from March 21 to 23, 2024, in Tampa, Florida, USA.

Goals and objectives of international cooperation:
organization of academic mobility for undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students;

hosting guest lectures with the participation of foreign professors;

implementation of dual-degree programs;

organizing scientific internships for faculty members and young researchers;

participation in international scientific research projects;

organizing international conferences, seminars, and cultural events.

The Department of Practical English will continue to expand its international connections, striving for high standards in education and scientific research.
