Open Lesson on “The Famine in Kazakhstan (1921–1922)” Held at the Foundation Faculty

On April 16, 2025, an open lesson was held at the Foundation Faculty for foreign citizens and pre-university preparation students. As part of the History of Kazakhstan course, the topic of the lesson was "The Famine in Kazakhstan (1921-1922)." The participants included students from the Geography-Mathematics and World History-English tracks.

The aim of the lesson was to provide repatriated students with a deeper understanding of one of the most tragic events of the 20th century, to analyze the causes and consequences of the famine, and to cultivate historical awareness.

During the session, an interactive discussion was conducted between the instructor and students, featuring statistical data and eyewitness accounts from that period. Students had the opportunity to ask questions and express their reflections in both Kazakh and English. They also created thematic posters, offering visual interpretations and modern perspectives on historical events.

This open lesson fostered student engagement with Kazakhstan`s history and supported the development of critical historical thinking skills.
