The Department of Jurisprudence of the Institute of History and Law is one of the leading departments of Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University. The department implements the following directions of training in accordance with licenses: «6B042 - Jurisprudence», «7M042 - Jurisprudence», «6B01406 - Training of teachers of the basics of law and economics», «7M01406 - Teacher on the basics of law and economics».
Bachelor of Education in the field «6B01406 - Training of teachers of the fundamentals of law and economics» may hold the following positions:
- Teachers of the fundamentals of law and economics in the secondary school;
- Teacher in secondary vocational schools;
- Specialist of the administrative bodies of education;
- Manager in the education system;
- Social teacher in special organizations;
- in State and non-State organizations;
- Methodist etc.
Master of Pedagogical Sciences in the field «7M01406 - Teacher in the basics of law and economics» can work in such activities as:

Bachelor of Laws in the specialty «5B030100 - Jurisprudence» can work:
- in law enforcement agencies;

- Legal adviser;
- a lawyer in state and non-state companies;

There are 28 teachers in the department: six doctors of science, 15 candidates of science and nine masters of jurisprudence.
Professors teaching staff of the department conducts training in the state, English and Russian languages, using interactive and digital teaching methods.
