Abai University announces a competition to fill vacant positions for the position of research professor

Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University announces a competition for the vacant position of full-time professor-researcher to conduct teaching and scientific activities.

An applicant for the position of research professor must meet the following requirements in total:

1) having an academic degree of Doctor/Candidate of sciences; the academic title of Professor or Associate Professor (the presence of the academic title of acting associate professor or professor at a university or research institute is not taken into account);

2) having at least 20 (twenty) years of experience in scientific and pedagogical activities;

3) experience of participating in at least 2 (two) implemented or ongoing scientific projects within the framework of grant or program-targeted funding of the MSHE of the Republic of Kazakhstan or in international projects over the past 5 (five) years as a scientific supervisor or member of a research group;

4) having at least 4 (four) articles published in publications recommended by the Committee for Quality Assurance in the Field of Science and Higher Education of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan over the past 5 (five) years;

5) presence of at least 3 (three) articles published in publications indexed in the Science Citation Index Expanded, Social Science Citation Index, Arts and Humanities Citation Index, Russian Science Citation Index and (or) Emerging Sources Citation Index of the Web of Science database, and (or) in a publication with a CiteScore percentile in the Scopus database of at least 35 (thirty-five) in the last 5 (five) years, as well as the presence of an H-index of at least 2 (two);

OR

- presence of at least 2 (two) articles published in publications indexed in the Science Citation Index Expanded, Social Science Citation Index, Arts and Humanities Citation Index, Russian Science Citation Index and (or) Emerging Sources Citation Index of the Web of Science database and ( or) in a publication that has a CiteScore percentile in the Scopus database of at least 35 (thirty-five) over the past 5 (five) years;  Chapter in a monograph published by Elsevier, Brill, CRC Press, DeGruyter, Edward Elgar Publishing, John Wiley & Sons, McGraw Hill, Palgrave Macmillan, Peter Lang, Prentice Hall, Routledge, Sage Publications, Springer Nature, Taylor and Francis, Wolters Kluwer , Cambridge University Press, Columbia University Press, Cornell University Press, Harvard University Press, MIT Press, Oxford University Press, Princeton University Press, Stanford University Press, University of California Press, University of Chicago Press, University of Michigan Press, Yale University Press or by the publishing house of a university included in the top 100 international rankings Academic Ranking of World Universities, Times Higher Education World University Rankings or US News Best Global Universities Rankings for the last 5 (five) years; and the presence of the Hirsch Index (H-index).

The application for participation in the competition includes:

- application for participation in the competition;

- a copy of the ID;

- CV;

-documents confirming receipt of an academic degree, assignment of an academic title;

- the applicant`s research plan (Research Proposal) (priority is research activities in pedagogical and interdisciplinary areas);

- list of scientific papers for the last 5 (five) years;

- documents confirming leadership and participation in scientific projects of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, leadership and participation in international scientific projects (screenshot from the NCSTE system, agreement with an international organization);

- a portfolio with supporting documents of the above requirements for applicants (reprints of publications and chapters of the monograph, citation indicator of publications in the Scopus and WoS databases, a copy of the work record book);

- letter of recommendation or characteristics from previous places of work;

- achievements in the field of science and education over the past 5 (five) years with supporting documents (holder of the Bolashak scholarship, holder of the title "Best Researcher", holder of the title "Best University Teacher" of the Republic of Kazakhstan, experience in scientific leadership, patents for inventions, certificates and etc.).
