Small-Scale Schools: Present and Future


On March 17, 2025, at 15:00 PM, an online webinar was held on the Zoom platform, organized by the Department of Foreign Languages of the Faculty of Philology, for the teaching staff of the Kulandy and Koktem small-sized schools in the Aral region of Kyzylorda oblast.


The main goal of the webinar was to create a platform for exchanging views between teachers of small-scale schools and university scholars, sharing pedagogical experience, and enhancing the scientific potential of teachers. This goal was successfully achieved.


To open the webinar, the Dean of the Faculty of Philology, Doctor of Philological Sciences A.V.Tanjarikova, and the Head of the Department, PhD S.K.Ivatov, emphasized the need to improve the teaching and methodological practices of small-sized schools and shared their opinions on the matter.


During the webinar, the moderator, Candidate of Philological Sciences and Associate Professor G.R.Nurekeshova, invited the Head of the Department of Kazakh Literature and Teaching Methodology named after Academician S.Kirabayev, Candidate of Philological Sciences E.T.Ospanov, to present a report on "The Fundamentals of Writing a Scientific Article" and senior lecturer PhD K.E.Moldabayeva delivered a talk on "Academic Writing: Issues in Structuring a Scientific Article."


The speakers discussed the impact of artificial intelligence on the language learning process, the influence of multilingualism on cognitive development, and the limitations of neural network-based translation systems compared to human translation. They also introduced participants to the key principles of writing scientific articles.


At the end of the webinar, participants exchanged experiences and developed several proposals for conducting joint research and publishing their findings.
