Abai University Students Conducted English Language Lectures for Schoolchildren

From March 17 to March 28, 2025, methodological English language lessons were conducted online once a day for students of small rural schools as part of the "Lifelong Learning Environment" initiative. A total of 58 students from grades 5 to 9 at Kulandinskaya School No. 77 in the Aral District of the Kyzylorda Region and 54 students from grades 2 to 9 at Koktem School No. 227 participated in these lessons.

The main goal of these lessons was to exchange experiences in integrated learning and expand the application of modern teaching methods and techniques. The sessions were conducted by students specializing in "Foreign Language: Two Foreign Languages," who were part of a volunteer group and selected from the top graduates of the 2024-2025 academic year.

The online lessons covered topics such as Present Continuous, Past Simple, Reading: Places of Natural Beauty, Save Our Animals, and more. During the sessions, students worked on various language exercises together with university students, using interactive methods and platforms such as Wordwall.net, Kahoot, the Direct Method, Mosaic Reading, Jigsaw Reading Activity, multimedia technologies, and LearningApps.org. Additionally, participants received continuous feedback.

The methodological lessons were organized by Gulsum Nurekeshova, PhD in Philology, Acting Associate Professor of the Department of Foreign Languages at the Faculty of Philology of Abai KazNPU. The teacher closely monitored the effectiveness of the interactive learning process and reminded students that regardless of the format-whether offline or online-learning remains a priority.
