Discussion of the «Academic Honesty» Code

From March 29 to April 4, 2019, advisors of the 1,2,3,4 courses students of bachelor degree and the 1,2 years undergraduates of specialties «5B011700/6M -Kazakh language and literature», «5B020500/6M -Philology», «5B012100/6M-Kazakh language and literature in schools with non-Kazakh language of instruction» of Academician S.Kirabayev Department of Kazakh Language and Literature conducted explanatory workabout the «Academic Honesty» Codeapproved by Protocol No. 2 dated October 31, 2017 at a meeting of the Academic Council ofAbai KazNPU and explained the importance of the Code for obtaining quality education. During the discussion, the advisors were able to provide information about the principles of the academic honesty, disciplinary measures against violations of academic integrity, Explained in detail what academic integrity, academic transparency, academic injustice and plagiarism are. By the results of discussion, advisers analyzed the views and opinions of students about the «Academic Honesty»Code.

The main purposes of the «Academic Honesty» Code:

- encouraging students to participate in research activity;

- formation of research skills of students, as well as to teach academic honesty and academic ethics in the performance of scientific work, the formation of ideas about plagiarism;

- fostering an active lifestyle, the study of practical measures to combat corruption.
