On March 5, 2025, the Central State Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in collaboration with Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University, opened a collective art exhibition titled "On the Path of Abai." The event was organized to celebrate the 180th anniversary of the great thinker and poet Abai Qunanbaiuly.
This significant cultural event serves as a vivid reflection of Kazakhstan`s artistic heritage and a platform for creative dialogue between generations, blending tradition and innovation in the interpretation of Abai`s ideas.
The exhibition features more than 80 works of painting, graphics, and decorative-applied arts created by professors, students, and alumni of the Faculty of Arts. "On the Path of Abai" is more than just an exhibition-it is a historical journey, an immersion into the depths of Kazakh culture, and a fresh perspective on the legacy of the great poet. Each artwork invites deep reflection on Abai`s heritage, philosophy, and timeless spiritual and moral values.
The opening ceremony included speeches by the Acting Director of the Central State Museum of Kazakhstan, Galiya Temirton, the Chairman of the Veterans Council of Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University, Professor Berikzhan Almakhanov, the Chairman of the Union of Artists of Kazakhstan, Omirbek Zhubaniyazov, and the Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Karim Baikutov.
As part of the exhibition, university professors and students will conduct masterclasses on traditional Kazakh painting and graphic arts, as well as national crafts, including felt processing, leatherworking, and embroidery.
Special attention is given to the theme of national identity, which lies at the heart of Abai`s creative legacy. The exhibition, dedicated to promoting the great poet`s invaluable heritage, is expected to continue in the future.
