Educational Lecture-Concert “Heritage of the Ancestors” Dedicated to the 100th Anniversary of Nurgisa Tlendiyev


On April 22, 2025, the Kazakh National Conservatory named after Nurgisa Tlendiyev hosted an educational lecture-concert by Yerbol Ussenbayev titled "Ata-dan Mura" ("Heritage of the Ancestors"). The event, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the outstanding composer, aimed to highlight his immense contribution to Kazakh culture and music, the depth of his creative work, and the importance of the legacy he left to future generations.

 

Throughout the evening, Nurgisa aga`s unique identity as a composer and his distinctive style as a kyushi (a traditional Kazakh composer and performer of kyuis) were thoroughly showcased. Among the honored guests were notable cultural figures such as S. Kudaybergenova (Honored Worker of Culture of the Republic of Kazakhstan), N. Salimkhan, A. Abil, K. Bäidibek, M. Zhasangbayev, and N. Kuzenbayev. The concert also featured a performance by the dombyra ensemble led by People`s Artist of Kazakhstan, Aigul Ulkenbayeva.

 

This concert held special significance for representatives of Kazakh art, as the centenary of Nurgisa Tlendiyev marks an important milestone in honoring the nation`s cultural heritage, paying respect to the past, and passing on its values to future generations.

 

In this context, the participation of the Department of Music Education and Choreography from the Faculty of Arts of Abai KazNPU was both a great honor and a serious responsibility.

 

The highlight of the evening was the active participation of the A-BLUES vocal-instrumental ensemble and students from the Faculty of Arts, who presented their creative work. They reinterpreted and reimagined the works of Nurgisa Tlendiyev, leaving a lasting impression on the audience. The ensemble was led by KazNPU doctoral student Nurlan Kasimov, while the concert itself was professionally hosted by fellow doctoral student Kanat Amirkhanov.

 

This evening was not just a tribute to Nurgisa Tlendiyev`s creative legacy but also a meaningful cultural event that revealed the profound essence of Kazakh art and left an unforgettable impression on every participant.
