My art is my life

On April 11, 2025, in the village of Karashoky, Kerbulak District, Zhetysu Region, a creative evening titled "My Art is My Life" was held at the village`s House of Culture, organized by the children`s creative center "Bal Dauren." The guest of honor was Samat Tugelbayuly Malimbay - a native of the village, conductor, composer, senior lecturer at the Department of Music Education and Choreography of the Faculty of Arts of Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University, Honored Cultural Worker of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and Honorary Citizen of Kerbulak District.

The evening opened with a ceremonial speech by the akim (mayor) of Karashoky village, Dina Akbasova. During the event, video excerpts from Samat Tugelbayuly`s biography were shown, and his creative journey was presented. The guest shared memories of his mentors, the creative teams he had worked with, and spoke about his own musical compositions. He also answered questions from the audience and performed several kyuis (traditional Kazakh instrumental pieces) on the dombra. Students presented a short concert featuring Samat Tugelbayuly`s original songs. At the end of the evening, as a token of appreciation from the villagers, the guest was presented with a traditional chapan (robe) and a bouquet of flowers.

The event concluded with a heartfelt address from Samat Tugelbayuly, offering advice and encouragement to the younger generation.
