The wisdom of a teacher

On April 24, 2025, a themed meeting titled "The Wisdom of a Teacher" was held at the Omar Mukhammadi Secondary School in the village of Avat, Talgar District. The special guest of the evening was Samat Tugelbayuly Malimbay - conductor, composer, senior lecturer at the Department of Music Education and Choreography of the Faculty of Arts at Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University, Honored Cultural Worker of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and Honorary Citizen of Kerbulak District. The event was dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of Nurgisa Tlendiyev and brought together teachers and students of the school.

The evening took place in the assembly hall of the school. The event was officially opened by the school principal, Gülím Naqıspékqızı Seklibaeva. During the meeting, documentary films about the life of Nurgisa Tlendiyev were shown, along with excerpts from films featuring his musical compositions. Additionally, video materials were presented that highlighted the creative journey of Samat Tugelbayuly. The guest of the evening shared memories about his mentor, performed several of Tlendiyev`s kui (traditional instrumental music) on the dombra, and spoke about the creative collectives he had worked with as well as his own musical compositions. He also answered questions from the audience. The students of the school performed a small concert featuring songs and kui by Nurgisa Tlendiyev. The evening was further enriched by the participation of Erbol Usenbaev, senior lecturer at the Department of Music Education and Choreography of Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University and Candidate of Arts. He shared his memories of Tlendiyev and performed several of his kui. At the end of the evening, a traditional chapan was placed on the shoulders of Samat Tugelbayuly, and bouquets of flowers were presented to the guests. The event concluded with a heartfelt address from Samat Tugelbayuly, offering words of encouragement to the students.
