The scientific battle "The International program on assessment of educational achievements of pupils (PISA)" took place

On April 11, 2025, within the framework of the Decade of Science, senior lecturers of the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology of the Faculty of Pedagogy and Psychology, Master of Social Sciences Saule Issaliyeva and Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences Ardak Kalimoldaeva held a joint session on the discipline "Evaluation and Development".

Guest speaker at the event is Aliya Mombek, PhD, Associate Professor of Music Education and Choreography at the Faculty of Arts.

2nd year students of the Faculty of Philology (RCO and RYAL) held a science battle "International Program for the Evaluation of Students` Educational Achievement (PISA)". Presenter - Baeva Arina, experts - Varisova Dilyara, Kalyshbek Zhadyra, Borangazieva Yasmin, mobilographer - Zhunis Akbayan.

In the first round, the teams presented arguments for and against and proposed an alternative to the PISA program. In the second round, the participants defended clusters (project works), and in the final round they took part in interactive activities (the game "True or False", the quiz "Continue the phrase".

According to the results of three rounds, the first place was taken by the team "Alternative: AltPoint" (Munyshova Aymzhan, Otegen Araylym, Vilyamova Arzigul, Zubkova Anastasia), the second place - by the team "For: IQnation" (Zhandarbekova Gulsezim, Omirbekova Ayazhan, Musagul Madina, Sundetbai Albina), third place - team "Against: TextUp" (Amangeldy Sabina, Kakenova Aruzhan, Smailova Malika, Toktar Nazerke).

The scientific battle turned out to be very interesting and aroused the audience`s keen interest, the activity of participants, high level of involvement showed the effectiveness of this format of training sessions.

The teams received diplomas and certificates as a result of the science battle.
